Steve Stewart is our pastor at FCF; Greenock AOG was subsequently was renamed Fire Christian Fellowship after Steve & Mairi took over, Steve answered the call of God to pastor the fellowship in December 2005 although God had told him some 13 years beforehand that one day he would indeed do that. Steve is a proud dad to Rachel, Stephanie and Luke plus husband to wife Mairi. Steve’s call is to teach God’s word in a practical easy to understand manner, he likes to use humour in his messages and believes that everybody has a part to play in the ministry and he wants to empower people to fulfil their call. Steve has a genuine passion for what church should be, a place of connection. He believes the church’s role is to help people connect with God and with the community of others within the church.
Mairi works as a part time lecturer with Paisley University as well as doing some tutoring work with the ‘On Track’ project on an ad hoc basis. She graduated in 2005 with a BA Hons in Sociology. She oversees the children’s ministry as well as serving alongside her husband Steve in pastoring the fellowship. However, Mairi’s main role and passion is to be a loving and supportive wife to Steve and a Mum to her three fantastic children Rachel, Stephanie and Luke, which she regards as a joy and a privilege. Mairi loves to chat, laugh a lot (well you have to in the ministry), eat, read and walk with her husband. Mairi has loved the Lord for over 22 years and is excited about what God is doing in FCF and in Inverclyde as a whole.
Debbie Sinclair is our Finance Manager; Debbie is an ACCA qualified accountant and works as an internal auditor, she is wife to David and mum to Jennifer. Debbie loves the Lord and is an asset to the team at FCF, she has a heart to see many community projects run and financed through the church. FCF aims to be a church that pours it’s resources back out and Debbie is a key figure in that endeavour.
Cathie Pickett is part of the leadership team, Cathie is married to Adam and they have two grown up children plus four grandchildren. Cathie has been a member of the fellowship for 26 years and served under a number of pastors and therefore brings great experience and support to the rest of the leadership team. She has been a particular support to Pastor Steve & Mairi in these early days of the new era in our church’s history.
